Experience Matters

Today I visited with a car dealership in Golden. They had 5 large windows that had a problem with intense glare and scorching heat. Facing both south and east, there was just no escape for hours.

I suggested the 3M Night Vision 25 & 15 and Sun Gard Optivision 25 & 15. These would offer great benefits while still allowing for clear visibilty both day and night. As we discussed the products another gentleman approached and commented that he had already contracted with someone to tint the windows. As it turns out, he had contracted with the company that tints car windows for them. The plan was to install automotive window film on these 55" x 82" windows. The problem with this is simple. Dark, non-reflective window films will absorb an extreme amount of heat into the glass. This creates a risk of "thermal shock fracture". Simply put, the glass will break.

Once management understood the risks they decided to cancel the order placed with the auto tint .

It is important to get all of the answers and know the facts. What could have become a costly disaster will result in a better informed consumer. Clear View always strives to educate the customer so that hey can make an informed decision. No tricks, gadgets or gimmicks. Just the facts.

Selecting the right window film for your home

There are a lot of window films on the market today. Some good. Some....not so good. But, how do you determine the difference when everybody says "Mine's the best."?
Start with the warranty. Make sure the warranty is backed by a reputable manufacturer. Films from over seas are often not supported by a comprehensive warranty and can be difficult to deal with should a concern arise.
"It doesn't matter how well it looks, if you don't like the way it looks". While some films will stop more heat than others, they may not be too attractive on your home. Give serious consideration to the appearance when selecting a film.
Most window tinting companies are happy to provide references. Be assured. These are always satisfied customers. Take things a step further. What associations are they a member of and are they bestablished in the community? (BBB or Chamber of Commerece)
But in the end, go with your instincts. If what you are being told sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Be a wise consumer. Get to know who you are doing business with.

Start With Trust

You can depend on Clear View Window Tinting to provide you with only the best products and service. We are an Accredited Member of the Better Business Bureau and Tom Martino recommended.

Another Happy Clear View Window Tinting Customer

Today we installed 3M Night Vision 15 to a home in Castle Rock, CO. We installed Night Vision 15 on their family room windows earlier this spring. They had the opportunity to experience the film and its benefits through the summer.

When we arrived I was chatting with the homeowner and asked how the film had worked for them. "Oh my GOD, what difference!" she was quick to respond. She commented she only regrets not having more windows done the first time.

We installed film in the kitchen, master bedroom, loft office and dining room. She loved the way it looked and said her husband will be thrilled now that his southwest facing office will be more comfortable.

It really makes you feel good when a customer is as satisfied as this one was. Satisfation is our goal. Mission Accomplished.

Mountain Home Skylights

Last week we went to beautiful Jefferson, Colorado. A mountain "cabin" had lots of skylights that were allowing in too much damaging sun light and creating more than anticipated heat. The owner considered shades, but this would block out too much light and simply wasn't the look they had hoped to maintain.

Clear View installed Sun Gard Optivision 25 on the skylights. This film offers outstanding heat reduction and blocks 99% of the suns harmful UV rays. They were able to keep just the right amount of light and didn't alter the beauty of their home.

The homeowner was so impressed, he is having us back out to film his vast window wall that looks right at the mountains. Hopefully, we go before the snow starts...he's way up there!

Oops, It can Happen

This morning I received a call from a former customer. Seems she managed to get some fingernail polish on her tinted kitchen window. In trying to get it off, she used a coarse green scrub pad. Unfortuantely, this scratched her window tinting. She was quick to point out that she had cleaned her windows on a number of occasions without damage. I explained to her that scrub pads are often color coded by their texture. Green is one of the most abrasive.

It just so happened we were going to be in her area today, so I told her we would stop by and take care of her. When we stopped in we found that the damaged window was a small window over the kitchen sink. We were able to remove the damaged film and replace it in less than 30 minutes. She was thrilled! I can guarantee the next time she thinks of window tinting, she remembers Clear View.

When she asked how much she owed me, I told her... "Don't worry about it. Just refer me to your neighbors" I was told "we already have!" She insisted on paying anyway. We charged her half price and everybody was happy.

There are 2 morals to this story: Never use an green abrasive scrubber on window film and a little bit of customer service goes a long way! I can guarantee the next time she thinks of window tinting, she remembers Clear View.

Lowest Price or Highest Quality, It's Your Choice

A good business reputation does not spring up overnight, but grows steadily and soundly because it is rooted in the solid ground of customer satisfaction. At Clear View, we value our reputation and your satisfaction.

"It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot -it can't be done.
IF YOU DEAL WITH THE LOWEST BIDDER, IT IS WELL TO ADD SOMETHING FOR THE RISK YOU RUN and if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better."

Quality products and unsurpassed customer service, nothing less will do.

#1 in Customer Service!

Yesterday I visited with a customer in Aurora. They had requested I come after 5:00 p.m. Our typical business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. But, this was the only time they could see me, so I made the 40 mile drive.

Once there they showed me around their home and we discussed their needs. They mentioned their rooms were getting hot making it uncomfortable for their newborn baby and 18 month old since their bedrooms faced east. I recommended both 3M Night Vision 25 and Sun Gard Optivision 25. These films will provide excelent heat reduction.

Once they selected their window film they asked if I could do the work right now. It was 6:00 now. At first, I thought.... there's no way. Certainly I don't have the film they want in my truck. But, as it turned out, I did have the film! By 7:30 their windows in their children's rooms were tinted and I was on my way home.

Clear View wants our customers to know that we still understand "good 'ol customer service".

Will window film prevent my floors and furnishings from fading?

I saw an ad posted on Google today that said "Stop your floors from fading by over 100% with window film and tint". Seems some window tinting companies are a bit misinformed. OR are they misleading the consumer? Here are the facts!

Sun damage (fading) is caused by 3 elments. UV, Visible Light and Solar Heat. UV is responsible for 40% of the damage, light 25% and heat 25%. The remaining 10% accounts for things we cannot control. By reducing UV by 99% this protects furnishings by 40%, not 100%. Then by cutting the light and heat in half we can add another 25% to the protection. Simple math tells us that this only provides 65% fade protection. Not 100%.

Bottom line is window film will help to reduce fading of flooring and furniture. But as long as you have windows, some fading will still occur over time. This information is available at http://www.iwfa.com/

Be a wise consumer and don't be mislead by inexperienced or uninformed companies. Visit our website to learn how Clear View Window Tinting can provide you with the right information to make an educated decision. http://www.clearmountainview.com/

Selecting a window tinting contractor

There are a lot of window tinting companies in the Denver metro area. Some are good, some are not. But how do you tell them apart? First, let's start with ethics.

NEVER trust a window tinting contractor that "trash talks" about competitive products. This clearly indicates that they have little faith in their own products, therefore they must attack the competition in an attempt to make themselves look better. Sadly, a number of companies choose this marketing approach. Vista dealers are notorious for this! If a company cannot earn your business without dicrediting their competitor, you have to question their integrity.

Visit their website and check out the pictures being used. Are they actual photos of projects they have completed or are they simply pictures provided by the manufacturer of the film. You should be able to see pictures of work they have actually performed.

Testimonials are often self written and misleading. Never trust a testimonial that claims to have paid a company to fix someone else's mistake. This is highly unlikely.

Auto tint shops often promote residential and commercial window tinting. Since this type of window film appication is much more involved than simply making the glass dark, auto tint shops are often not properly educated in material selection. Then, the question arises....Do they have the right insurance?

Customer service is an area that is difficult to determine until a problem arises. Very often, if you choose to go with the lowest bid, you will get the same quality service as product.

At Clear View we want you to understand what to expect from window tinting companies. We clearly post pictures of our projects and our warranty on our website http://www.clearmountainview.com/ for your review. We are A Rated by the Better Business Bureau and recommended by Tom Martino.

Be a wise consumer and get the best value from Clear View!

Sun Gard Optivision a BIG HIT!

Control the sun with our new Optivision window film from Sun Gard. Designed for a clear view both day and night Optivison provides performance and outstanding views along with a great value. Why pay more? Great on homes or commercial buildings.

Beware of False Claims

Today I was browsing Craigslist. Yeah, I know...but, here is what I found. I came across a posting that stated that Huper Optik window film will block 90% of the sun's heat from entering your windows. This is completely false. There is no transparent window film on the market that will block 90% of the heat. This uninformed "window tinter" simply doesn't understand how window films work or is misleading the consumer. This is what he states:

NOT ALL WINDOW FILMS ARE CREATED EQUAL! HUPER OPTIK WINDOW FILM BLOCKS UP TO 90% OF THE HEAT THAT COMES THROUGH YOUR WINDOWS AND LOOKS GREAT!

The fact is, while this film will reduce IR light by 90%, IR light makes up less than 50% of the solar heat spectrum. Thus this film willl reduce solar heat by about 45% on dual pane windows.

Be an educated consumer and beware of claims that seem too good to be true. This is a perfect example of an "auto tinter" attempting to sell window film to homes and commercial buildings.

Why take chances? Call Clear View for a complete and honest assesment of your problem windows. 303-697-6499

Recently James Denton of Clear View was a guest on "Martino TV" on KDVR FOX 31 in Denver. During the interview Tom learned there are many types of window film products he was unaware of. He was quite impressed with the number of products and new technologies!

Clear View is proud to be the only window tinting company in Colorado to appear on Martino TV.

Are Low-e windows worth the money?

We've been asked on a number of occasions if low-e windows are a good value. I'd have to say a resounding yes. Low-e windows help to retain warmth in your home during the cold winter months. Some will even help to reduce solar heat. However, one misconception is that these windows can also block the sun's damaging UV rays. Some high quality windows will reduce UV rays by as much as 65%. While this certainly helps, it doesn't match the 99% UV reduction that window films provide.

Check with your window manufacturer to determine the UV performance of your windows or contact Clear View and we will test your windows with our UV meter, absolutely free.
