Privacy For Conference Rooms

Law Bank, an office space created for independent lawyers called on Clear View to install a white frost window film on their conference room in order to provide privacy for their clients. The film was added to several conference rooms, entrance doors and office side lites. We then created a digital logo and applied it to the windows facing the entrance.

Can window film be installed when its cold?

I am often asked this very question. We do install window film when it is cold, however we do try to avoid "snow days". Since the film is installed using a water solution there is a chance of it freezing, therefore affecting the adhesive properties. If the sun is out, the water will not likely freeze.

UV Still Does Damage in the Winter

Often, we relate to summer months when we think about the sun and it's affects to our furnishings and flooring. But, did you know that UV rays are just as strong when it's cold outside? In many cases the sun light actually travels further into our home during the winter as the sun is lower to the horizon and shines more directly into windows.

Sun Gard window film will block up to 99% of the sun's harmful rays. We offer a number of films that are light and barely detectable that will add to the life of your wood floor, carpet or furniture.

Separating Fact From Fiction

I've read a number of ads with some pretty wild claims regarding window tinting for your home.

One post said window film will reduce your home's energy bill by 60%. While I wish this was true...It is Not true! In fact solar heat gain entering your windows only accounts for 40% of the heat entering your home. And even that is determined by the size and number of windows and the direction they face. A/c only contributes to 44% of a home's energy cost. If the film blocked 100% of the heat it still would not reduce energy by 60%. Buyer beware!

Another said the film would keep in 65% of heat in the winter. Once again, Not true! Traditional window film will only retain about 10% of the heat escaping through your windows. Window film IS NOT insulation. Some "Low-e" films will improve the winter performance... but not by 65%. Not even close!

Either these companies are mis-informed or misleading the consumer in an attempt to make a sale. Why take chances?

Will Window Film Affect My View?

I am often told "I don't want to lose my view". I couldn't agree more! Which is why window tinting is a better option to hiding behind closed blinds or shades. Some films are virtually invisible while others will actually enhance the view by reducing glare.

There are a variety of shades to choose from that will allow you to maintain your beautiful Clear View!

Anti-Graffiti Window Film

Take a look at the difference! Clear View Window Tinting contracted with Assistance League Denver to remove the old and scratched anti-graffiti window film (top photo) that had been applied years ago. Over the years, the store had been tagged many times. Once the old film was removed, we exposed fresh clean glass, without all the scratches. The film had done it's job! We re-applied our .04 mil Graffiti Gard to the cleaned windows. The store looked like it had been updated and several customers commented on how much better it looked.  The clear film is thick enough to prevent scratching into the glass saving it fom expensive replacement.

Optivision 15 to Cut Glare & Heat

Commercial Window Tinting

A Lakewood bio-engineering firm was looking for a way to reduce the volume of light entering the sensitive lab area. Given it's direction, solar heat gain was also an issue. We recommended and installed Sun Gard Optivision 15. Glare and light was reduced by 85%. You may think the lab became dark and gloomy, but quite the opposite occurred. With the film applied, they were able to open the mini-blinds and let the natural sun light come in without the UV, and glare. Optivison 15 will also reduce solar heat gain by about 70%. The view was improved and the sun light problem was solved. They no longer needed to close the blinds to achieve privacy. Optivision 15 got the job done.

How Much Heat Will Window Film Block?

Clear View Window Tinting offers a wide range of heat reducing sun control window films. These optically clear films will reduce solar heat entering your windows by up to 75%. There are a variety of shades and performances. Typically, the darker films will perform better than the lighter.

How much heat is reduced is up to you. Here are a few examples of what to expect.

  • Century 60: 37% TSER       Very light
  • Optivision 35: 48% TSER   Slightly Tinted
  • Optivision 25: 57% TSER   Medium Tinted
  • Optivison 15: 67% TSER    Dark Tinted
  • Optivision 5: 75% TSER     Super Dark
(TSER: Total Solar Energy Rejected)

The exception to the rule is our Geo Shield IRis 70. This almost invisible film will reduce solar heat by up to 54% without a dark or tinted look. This unique film also blocks UV by 99%.

By reducing the volume of heat entering your windows your rooms will remain more comfortable and easier to cool. Many homeowners notice a reduction in their cooling costs. How much heat in degrees is difficult to determine as it is based on the time of day, the angle of your windows to the sun and several other factors. Either way, you'll stay cooler with Clear View Window Tinting.

Will window film effect my cell phone reception?

The short answer to this is NO. Although most window films, including "ceramic films" or "IR films" contain some form of metal. There is no evidence to suggest they block any signal at all. To provide a better understanding as to how much metal is used in window film imagine this.... If you were to paint the roof of a six story building. The paint would equate to the metal and the building the film. As you can see, there is an extremely small amount of metal. Not enough to disrupt a cellular signal. Another example would be to think about all of the times your cell phone worked in rooms where there were no windows at all.
Point is, your windows are not the only source of signal.

This is a myth that originates from auto glass tinting. When auto tint was introduced with metal it was found to interfere with radio reception. But, only a few vechicles in which the antenna is in the rear window glass. Funny how information can get distorted over time.

Which Brand is Best?

Selecting the right window film for your home or office is a serious decision and should not be taken lightly. First, focus on what your highest priority is. Whether it is to protect your furnishings or reduce energy consumption, there is a film designed to fit your needs.

So how do you tell which film company to choose when everyone says "mine is the best"? Sometimes it is difficult to separate fact from fiction. Very often, the warranty will provide a good clue. Make sure "glass breakage" is included. If it is not it would be wise to avoid this product. Where is the product made? Foreign made window films often do not provide the level of customer service should a warranty issue arise as those made here.

While "brand name" films offer a recognizable name associated with other products, this certainly doesn't make them "the best". In fact, you might be surprised to learn that many of the brand name films aren't actually made by the manufacturer baring that name. Most films made here in the U.S. A. are very often quite comparable in quality. Sun Gard films are made in St. Petersburg, Florida to the highest quality standards. A member of the 100 Year Old MADICO window film family.

Quality You Can Trust

At Clear View we take great pride in our work, and it shows. We use only the highest quality products, backed by a strong warranty. I personally over see every project to assure complete satisfaction.

Your home is your treasure and we take great care to make sure your home is properly cared for while we perform our service. Your floors and window ledges are covered and protected. We will thoroughly clean your windows before and after the installation making sure you enjoy your new "clear view".

Your satisfaction is my personal mission. After all, satisfied customers are worth more than any advertising.

Castle Rock Home Uses Film Combination

Can you tell the difference? Probably not, but the top windows are actually darker than the lower. Clear View installed Sun Gard Optivision 35 on the lower windows and Optivision 25 on the uppers. Since the homeowner had plans to install window treatments on the lower windows they chose to use the lighter shade on these windows. But, they wanted to leave the upper windows unrestricted yet wanted to control the harsh effects of the sun. Thus, the darker shade made a great choice to keep heat gain to a minimum and protect their home furnishings.
A special thanks to David at Design by Change!

Scam Warning!!

Today I received a text message stating that I had won a $1,000 Walmart gift card. It required me to follow a link to a website. According to Walmart the website sends you through a series of sponsored sites in addition asking you to provide personal information and post the link on Facebook.

If you did make the mistake of sharing the scam link, then you are now spamming your friends with the very same message. Clean-up your newsfeed and profile to remove references to the scam. (click the “x” in the top right hand corner of the post).
Never complete surveys to unlock videos or other content on Facebook. Scammers use these tricks to either spread malware, obtain personal identification or earn commissions from marketing companies. Don’t pad their pocket and possibly open yourself up to harm!
Some of the surveys require you to download files to your computer. Never do this! If you did so in error, then run a complete system scan with a good anti-virus software program. The I.Q. Quiz scam has been around for a while, and it typically requires you to enter your cell phone number to receive the results. The scammers then bill you for premium services. Keep an eye on your phone bill for bogus charges.
